资源简介:
Nine long-term moorings were deployed in the Eurasian and Makarov Basins of the Arctic Ocean during the Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System (NABOS) 2023 cruise. They were successfully recovered in September 2025. The primary goal of the mooring observations was to understand the role of stratification in controlling the transport of heat and other properties of Atlantic Water (AW) to the upper ocean and ice. The primary objectives included quantifying the structure and temporal variability of the main water masses, as well as obtaining detailed information about upper ocean, halocline, AW layer dynamics, and seasonal variations. The moorings were heavily equipped with current meters. A combination of 300-kilohertz (kHz) Teledyne Workhorse (WH) I and II and 75-kHz Long Ranger, along with 250-kHz Nortek Signature ADCPs (Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers) was used to measure velocity profiles from the ocean surface to depths of approximately 450 meters (m). Fifteen new WH-II ADCPs were deployed in 2023; however, due to instrument malfunctions, only 5 units returned usable data from the two-year deployment. Three Teledyne WH-I ADCPs operated reliably and provided the available velocity records for this dataset. This archive includes NABOS ADCP current meter mooring data collected at MB1, MB2, MB3, MB4, MB5, MB6, and MB8 moorings in 2023-2025. Each file contains the date of ADCP measurements, the depths of the ADCP bins, and data collected on the eastward and northward velocity provided by each ADCP bin.
