Whole-genome sequencing of oligosporogenic Bacillus thuringiensis BLB1 mutants generated by UV mutagenesis

This project reports the whole-genome sequences of oligosporogenic mutants of Bacillus thuringiensis generated through successive rounds of UV mutagenesis. The mutants were selected based on their reduced sporulation while maintaining insecticidal activity. Whole-genome sequencing was performed to identify genetic variations associated with altered sporulation and to investigate mutations affecting regulatory pathways, sporulation-related genes, and toxin production. These data contribute to a better understanding of the genetic basis of sporulation deficiency and support the development of optimized B. thuringiensis strain BLB1 for biological control applications.
