Fungal species occurrence dataset from rainwater samples (2018–2022) identified by culture-based sequencing and ITS2 metabarcoding

This dataset contains fungal species occurrence data obtained from rainwater samples collected between 2018 and 2022 in Changins, Switzerland.The Excel file "Table_of_rainwater_isolates_family_sorted.xlsx" include species identified from cultured isolates. The Excel file "Table_of_rainwater_metabarcoded_species_family_sorted.xlsx" include species from ASV-based taxonomic assignments derived from ITS2 metabarcoding. Both lists are sorted by fungal family. These data were generated as part of a PhD thesis investigating airborne fungal ecology and pathogen dynamics in viticultural systems. The dataset aims to document fungal diversity deposited by rainfall. Bioinformatic processing of metabarcoding data was performed using DADA2, with taxonomic assignment based on the UNITE reference database.
