资源简介:

The Delta Marsh Field Station (DFMS) was a research and teaching facility located on the south shore of Lake Manitoba as part of the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba. Located on the south shore of Lake Manitoba (98°23'W, 50°11'N), it bordered Delta Marsh, a “Wetland of International Significance” under the Ramsar Convention, that is one of the largest coastal marshes in North America. The Field Station property was part of a designated game-bird refuge and wildlife protection area, most of which was designated in 1987 as an ecologically significant area. Established in 1966, the Station was a member of the [Organization of Biological Field Stations](https://www.obfs.org/) and the Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network of Environment Canada. It was based at Mallard Lodge, one of the finest lodges on the marsh, built in 1932 on the estate of noted athlete and businessman [Donald H. Bain](https://www.mhs.mb.ca/docs/people/bain_dh.shtml). The Field Station officially closed as of 2011. Resources in this project have been transferred to this page from a later version of the Delta Marsh Field Station Archive, which can be found here: http://www.mb1870.org/deltamarsh/index.html.
