Ethics_Soy Extract as a Potent Inhibitor of DMBA-Induced Breast Cancer in Rats

A breast cancer model was generated by inducing female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats with DMBA in this strictly experimental in vivo study, which employs a post-test only control group design. There were female SD rats aged 6-7 weeks who had a body weight between 120 and 150 g that were the subjects of this study. The sample size was determined using the Federer formula to ensure that the minimum number of replications for each group was five individuals when n>5. A total of 30 rat were required for this research, as each group contained 6 rats, including 1 spare. Subsequently, rat were randomly assigned to one of five groups: Normal control, negative control, 250 mg/kg soybean extract, 500 mg/kg soybean extract, and 1000 mg/kg soybean extract. The rats were housed in controlled light-dark conditions at the Department of Anatomical Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
