This dataset depicts the global distribution of mangroves, which was jointly initiated by the International Tropical Timber Organization, the International Society for Mangrove Ecosystems, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Conservation Monitoring Centre of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP-WCMC), and the Man and the Biosphere Programme of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
