Metagenomic virome analysis of field collected Aedes mosquitoes from Austria, Europe

This study aimed at characterizing the viral metagenome of field collected, potential invasive Aedes mosquitoes from Austria Europe. For that, taxonomic species identification of individuals was done by genetic barcoding. Mosquitoes were dissected and head/ thorax were processed separately from abdomen. Individuals were pooled according to species and collection location at a maximum number of 5 individuals per pool.
