Heavy metal stress in Ligusticum chuanxiong

Ligusticum chuanxiong is a famous authentic Chinese medicinal herb in Sichuan. There is a serious problem of cadmium exceeding the standard during cultivation and production, which seriously damages the yield and quality of the medicinal herb. This project takes the evaluation of the effects of plant induced resistance substances - Bacillus subtilis and chitosan - on the growth regulation and root cadmium accumulation of L. chuanxiong as the starting point, revealing their mechanisms of improving L. chuanxiong growth, cadmium accumulation, and soil improvement.
