Petar Grdić Kinkela was born in 1969 in Saborsko, Croatia. Before the war he was working in "3 maj" shipyard in Rijeka. Before the start of the war he began to work in the police station in Saborsko. He lived in Saborsko during the siege of the town in 1991. Following the fall of Saborsko in November 1991. he spent the following days hiding in the forest, together with his mother and two other villagers.
