Permanent magnets (PMs) are at the heart of green energy production and conversion. The global market for magnets is dominated by rare earth (RE)-based materials. As REs are limited, strong efforts exist to replace heavy REs with more abundant ones, particularly Ce, with their unique properties due to their mixed valency. We propose a high-throughput screening of the Ce valence in Ce-based magnets to investigate the connection between Ce valence and their magnetic properties in Ce-Co-TM (TM = Co, Cu) permanent magnets. In preliminary experiments, we found a correlation between the Ce valence and the magnetic coercivity that we want to explore further.
