It is widely acknowledged that vast quantities of plastic waste accumulate in our oceans. One common occurrence of this waste is its washing up onto our beaches. Fortunately, numerous communities organize cleanup campaigns to tackle this issue on these coastal areas. The European Environment Agency (EEA) has developed the "Marine Litter Watch" application to track all efforts dedicated to keeping our beaches clean. The aim of this project is to enhance knowledge in Europe and provide support for European policy-making.
