The example data-set illustrates the raw data recorded when using dynamic microfluidic single-cell cultivation (dMSCC). Here, we stressed the industrially relevant bacterium <em>Corynebacterium glutamicum</em> ATCC 13032 with repeated glucose starvation. After three hours of inital growth in CGXII medium with glucose, <em>C. glutamicum</em> was submitted to 1 h of glucose starvation conditions. After this, glucose was re-submitted for 1 h. This 1 h oscillation between glucose and non-glucose conditions repeated until the end of the experiment. Phase contrast images were taken every 10 min. This data set also includes a control measurement, in which <em>C. glutamicum</em> grew with a constant supply of glucose in CGXII medium in the same microfluidic structure.
