Global Analysis of Co-occurring Mutation Triplets in the SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Gene (2022–2025)

This dataset presents the large-scale analysis of co-occurring mutation triplets in the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid (N) gene, based on 8.14 million genomes collected between 2022 and 2025. It identifies persistent mutational modules such as: - N:G204R + N:P13L + N:R203K (4.37M occurrences) - N:P13L + N:R203K + N:S413R - N:D377Y + N:D63G + N:R203M These triplets suggest strong epistasis, structural optimization, and adaptation to host immunity. The data supports ongoing genomic surveillance and functional studies of N protein evolution. This work is part of the GVAtlas (gvatlas.org) initiative to track viral adaptation using open science.
