Data from US Energy Information Administration.Note:Total rotary rigs in operation is the sum of rigs drilling for crude oil, rigs drilling for natural gas, and other rigs (not shown) drilling for miscellaneous purposes, such as other service wells, injection wells, and stratigraphic tests.
