Development of EST-SSR markers in Schisandra chinensis using transcriptome sequencing

Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill. is an important plant in Chinese herbal medicine, in order to increase the collection of available markers, we screened sequence tag-simple sequence repeat (EST-SSR) markers for Schisandra. Our results provide a foundation for research on germplasm resources and functional gene localization as well as for marker-assisted breeding of Schisandra.
