Gas1 regulates embryonic tongue muscle proliferation, differentiation and maturation via alternative pathways to Hedgehog signaling

In this study, we used Gas1lacZ reporter mouse model and muscle-specific Gas1 deletion model to explore the role of Gas1 in fetal tongue development. We used immunostaining and histology to examine the epithelium, stroma and intrinsic muscles in the control and mutant tongues.
