A primary cell line of primary fibroblasts was established for Steppe polecat (Mustela eversmanni) and DNA extraction from early passages was carried out. We generated two lanes of 10x Genomics Chromium linked reads on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 (150 PE) and assembled them de novo using an estimated coverage of 56x (supernova v2.1.1). This generated an assembly of 25.5 Gb, with a scaffold N50 of 64.2 Mb.
