The neutron capture cross section of Th-232 was measured using a total energy detection system equipped with four C6D6 scintillator detectors and the pulse-height weighting technique. The experiment was conducted at the back-streaming white neutron beamline (Back-n) of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). New resonance parameters were obtained by analyzing the Th-232(n,γ) reaction yields below 650 eV neutron energy with the multilevel multichannel R-matrix code SAMMY. The average capture cross section for Th-232 was measured in the unresolved resonance region from 4 to 300 keV. The experimental cross sections were compared with evaluations from the ENDF/B-VIII.1 library and with existing experimental data, showing consistent agreement. This work helps to refine evaluated nuclear data libraries and offers useful guidance for nuclear theoretical modeling and nuclear technology applications.
