High Gradient River Data

Data Set S01: The whole dataset composed of 2622 cross-sectional measurements compiled from Misset et al. (2019) and Mendicino & Colosimo (2019).

This file contains the basic equations of the Chezy’s, Manning’s, and Darcy-Weisbach, along with the other most commonly used flow resistance equations of Strickler (1923), Keulegan (1938), Hey (1979), Smart and Jaggi (1983), Bathurst (1985), Ferguson (2007), Recking et al. (2008), and Rickenmann and Recking (2011). In addition, the formulae used to calculate the root mean square error (RMSE) and root mean square percentage error (RMSPE) were also mentioned in text S3. The data shortlisting criteria is as shown in Figure S1.

The data classification on the basis on geometric standard deviation of bed material is shown in Table S1. However, the performances of the conventional equations in terms of root mean square error (RMSE), and root mean square percentage error (RMSPE) are shown in Table S2. The whole dataset composed of 2622 cross-sectional measurements were mentioned as additional information in Data Set S01
