An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in January 2018 on land at Wingmoor Farm, Long Marston, Warwickshire. Three trenches were excavated. Remains of north-south aligned ditches were identified in both the northern and southern areas of the site. A large and undefined spread was found across toward the western extent of the site which may also represent a dense area of pits or ditches. The artefacts recovered from the excavated ditches and spread were dated to the 12th to 13th centuries.
