This series is comprised of volumes containing the minutes of meetings held by the Tumut Municipal Council.  From 1914 to 1918, the minutes were all handwritten into the volumes. From 1922, they were typewritten. All minutes were signed by the Mayor of the Shire in his capacity as Chairman of the Council.The minutes document each decision the Council made, including matters concerning roads, buildings, bridges, sanitary concerns, public appointments, tourism and local business.The minutes of every meeting usually included the following proceedings: Attendance, Confirmation of the Previous Minutes, Correspondence, Reports, Questions without Notice, and Other Business.At each meeting the Council variously received reports from the Mayor, the Town Clerk, the Engineer, Committees of the Council such as the Finance Committee, the Works Committee and the Sanitation Committee, and also from various Inspectors.
