Experimentally induced myocardial infarction in mice - RNA Sequencing of sham left ventricular tissue and infarct zones

To induce myocardial infarction, ligation of left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery was performed for 5d. After 5d heart tisse was collected from the infarct zone of MI-mice and left ventricular tissue of sham operated mice. Overall design: LAD ligation was performed in mice for 5d to experimentally induce myocardial infarction (MI). Mice without LAD ligation were used as controls (sham operated). For MI mice, RNA was extracted from the infarct zone and compared to heart tisse from sham-operated mice.
