"Differential Gene Expression during Substrate Probing in the Caribbean Coral Porites astreoides"

This study conducted a transcriptomics analysis on the transition from non-probing to substrate- probing in larvae of the Caribbean brooding coral Porites astreoides (Walker et al., in prep). Results from this analysis collectively provide detailed insight into molecular changes prior to coral larval settlement and highlight the complex physiological and biochemical changes that occur in early transition stages from pelagic to benthic in the coral holobiont (the coral host and its dinoflagellate endosymbionts).
