Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecological cancer. SETD8 is a histone methyltransferase that methylates lysine 20 of histone H4 (H4K20) and has been reported to be involved in human carcinogenesis by methylating non-histone proteins such as p53. In this study, we investigated how SETD8 causes cancer through histone methylation and p53 methylation. As a method, we performed RNA-seq and ChIP-seq using SETD8 knockdown endometrial cancer cell lines to investigate the gene regulatory function upon H4K20 monomethylation.
