Digital Archive from Historic Building Recording Work at 61 and 63 New London Road, Chelmsford, Essex, March 2022

This collection comprises images and a brief from historic building recording work at 61 and 63 New London Road, Chelmsford, Essex. This work was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust in March 2022. Numbers 61 and 63 New London Road are three-storey with a basement, and both have a single-storey wing projecting to the south-east. Numbers 61 and 63 are a good example of a mid-19th century terrace, which incorporated new and old building techniques and layouts to attract the emerging Victorian middle-class. Not much of the original interior survives, particularly in no 61, but there are small glimpses into the buildings original fabric and form.
