Provincial distribution dataset of liverworts in China

China has the most abundant bryophyte resources and is one of the modern distribution and differentiation centers of bryophytes in the world. Specimen data is an important part of geographical distribution research. The excavation of specimen data has been carried out among different groups, but there is no relevant research on the specimen data of liverworts. In this study, the collection information of digital liverwort specimens in China was taken as the research object, and the provincial administrative divisions were taken as the basic unit to analyze the collection status and integrity of liverworts in China. In addition, combined with climatic data, the geographical distribution of liverworts in China was studied, which provided a theoretical basis for the protection of liverworts diversity and the further management and utilization of plant resources. The dataset promotes the collection and investigation of liverworts, diversity research and comprehensive protection, and also helps to study the large-scale biodiversity distribution pattern and the impact of global change on diversity.
