MeDeMAP news production dataset 4.3.

The dataset contains the data from the interview extracts that were used for the analysis of news production in the MeDeMAP Horison project. The data cover ten EU countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Slovenia. In the case of each country, interviews were collected with journalists and media producers representeing six news media types: PSM, commercial TV and radio outlets, press, digital native news media, local and regional media and community and non-profit media. The categorisation focuses on news production from a perspective of political participation. The questionnaire is structured according three basic thematic parts: basic pro-democratic functions of the news media, participation and representation, and conditions for media freedom, pluralism and democracy.
