Electron micrograph morphometry data

Electron micrographs were taken of a total of 9 cardiac myocytes from mice at embryonic day (E) 9.5, 11.5, 13.5, and 16.5, postnatal day (P) 1 and 7, weaning, and adult mice. In E11.5 and 13.5 hearts, data was obtained from both wall and trabecular myocytes. Two genotypes were examined: Wild type C57Bl/6N and Cyclophilin D (PPIF) knockout mice on a mixed background. Morphometry measuring shape descriptors of the cell, nucleus, contractile apparatus, and mitochondria was performed. Spreadsheet are provided of raw data that is compiled for area, perimeter, aspect ratio, form factor, and Feret diameter of mitochondria as well as for the area of the cell composed of nuclei, contractile apparatus, and mitochondria. Finally, a spreadsheet is provided of data from statistical analysis (GraphPad Prism) comparing these parameters between ages and genotypes.Note that images from which these data are derived are also provided in this project.
