Colorism and Student Sense-Making of Campus Climate in Higher Education

This dataset contains anonymized survey responses from a qualitative study examining how colorism shapes college students' sense-making of campus climate with respect to identity formation and belonging within higher education. The data were collected using an online Google Forms survey distributed to college students across multiple institutional contexts. The survey includes demographic items, open-ended narrative responses, and reflective questions addressing experiences of skin-tone bias in academic, social, and familial environments. The dataset is intended to support exploratory qualitative analysis rather than statistical generalization. This dataset is part of a broader digital ethnographic study integrating survey data, semi-structured interview material, and observational analysis of publicly available online discourse. All responses have been fully anonymized to protect participant confidentiality, and no personally identifiable information is included.
