Diplomatic immunity is an essential principle of international relations that ensures the effective functioning of diplomatic missions. It provides diplomats with legal protection in the host country and allows them to perform their duties without interference. However, in modern diplomacy the misuse of diplomatic immunity has become a controversial issue. Some cases show that diplomats may use this privilege to avoid legal responsibility.
