Characterization of whole blood transcriptome and early-life fecal microbiota in high and low responder pigs before, and after vaccination for Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae

In this study we investigated variation in whole blood transcriptome prior to and following vaccination in pigs, using Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae vaccine as a model, and RNA-sequencing technology. In addition, we looked at how the early-life microbiota composition before vaccination may relate to vaccine response, a topic that is mostly unexplored in farm animals
