Seeds for Needs India Impact Assessment

The survey implementation made use of a questionnaire to collect quantitative data. In order to maximize the allocation of resources in terms of time and cost, the mobile application Open Data Kit (ODK) was used, preceded by a short training for enumerators on its utilization. The questionnaire is composed by 17 sections. Out of them, 3 are specifically devoted to the impact evaluation and focus on the participation to project activities, target crop cultivation, and exposure to shocks and recovery capacity. The remaining sections are adapted from the Rural Household Multi Indicator Survey (RHoMIS). HoMIS is a household survey tool designed to rapidly characterize a series of standardized indicators across the spectrum of agricultural production and market integration, nutrition, food security, poverty and GHG emissions. (Hammond, 2017). The original RHoMIS was subject to minor adjustments to improve its context specificity following enumerators’ feedback during the training.
