Two wheat cultivars Galaxy-13 and S-24 were seed primed with proline and grown under normal or saline conditions. Seed priming with proline improved the growth of both wheat cultivars under non-saline and saline conditions. However, this effect was more in salt sensitive Galaxy-13. Transcriptome analysis was carried out to identify key molecular switches related to physiological processes for salt tolerance in wheat that were modulated by proline seed priming application.
