Alterations of lung and gut microbiota in sodium butyrate alleviating heat stress-induced lung injury of broilers

This research aims to assess sodium butyrate in alleviating heat stress-induced lung injury in broilers, along with exploring the potential contributions of the lung and gut microbiota in this context. Results showed that dietary supplement of sodium butyrate mitigated heat stress-induced lung injury in broilers, concurrently reinstating microbial homeostasis of the lung and gut. These results emphasize the significance of modulating the lung and gut microbiota in the beneficial effects of sodium butyrate for alleviating lung injury. This study offers valuable insights into developing strategies to alleviate heat stress in broilers.
