Drosophila w1118 flies were reared for multiple generations on media supplemented with BPS to create an iron-depleted condition. Larvae from the final generation were staged at the L2/L3 molt and transferred to either iron-rich media containing FAC or continued on iron-depleted media with BPS. Brain-ring gland complexes (BRGC), whole guts, and whole larvae were collected at specific time points after the L2/L3 molt. RNA was isolated from 48 samples, and libraries were generated for sequencing.
