Bits, Bytes, and Bonds: Mapping Italy's Computer Science Research Network - Dataset

This dataset contains year-by-year collaboration networks of Italian researchers in the field of Computer Science, from 1990 to 2023. Data are derived from OpenAlex and represent co-authorship links between authors based in Italy. Each yearly file (YYYY.zip) provides a collaboration network where edges correspond to co-authored publications in that year. A metadata file (metadata.zip) links OpenAlex work IDs to their associated research topics, and a list of spurious author IDs (deleted_authors.txt) is provided to filter artifacts caused by name disambiguation issues. The dataset enables temporal analysis of co-authorship patterns, community detection, and the study of research topic evolution in Italian Computer Science.
