资源简介:
This dataset presents the percentage of newborns who received their first postnatal check-up from a skilled health professional—specifically a doctor, nurse, or midwife. The first 48 hours of life are critical for detecting and responding to potential complications such as infection, feeding difficulties, or breathing problems. Skilled care during this window significantly improves newborn survival and long-term outcomes. This indicator helps assess service coverage, quality of care, and availability of trained personnel. Data are sourced from StatCompiler, based on harmonised Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) data. This is one of many datasets featured on the Midwives’ Data Hub, a digital platform designed to strengthen midwifery and advocate for better maternal and newborn health services.
