Postnatal care coverage: provider of newborns' first check-up: doctor/nurse/midwife

This dataset presents the percentage of newborns who received their first postnatal check-up from a skilled health professional—specifically a doctor, nurse, or midwife. The first 48 hours of life are critical for detecting and responding to potential complications such as infection, feeding difficulties, or breathing problems. Skilled care during this window significantly improves newborn survival and long-term outcomes. This indicator helps assess service coverage, quality of care, and availability of trained personnel. Data are sourced from StatCompiler, based on harmonised Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) data.
