资源简介:
Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder of the central nervous system, characterized by onset of dementia in the elderly population (aged above 65 years). It can be hypothesized that butyrate/butryrate-producing bacteria might have positive effects of memory improvement in mouse models of dementia-related diseases. Thus in our study, we wanted to determine if butyrate-producing bacteria are at all present or completely absent in the gut microbiota of AD patients. The application of single or mixture of butyrate-producer in studies associated with dementia-related diseases emphasizes the importance of identifying butyrate-producing bacteria and to measure their rate of butyrate production. Draft genome of some of the isolates from our study will be submitted.
