The Built-up Area Dataset of 433 Cities with a population over 300, 000 across China (1990-2015)

Based on multisource remote sensing data, including Landsat and Sentinel image time series, the impervious surface area products of 433 Chinese cities with a population of more than 300, 000 from 1990 to 2015 were generated with the help of Google Earth Engine cloud computing platform, using a diversified index adaptation strategy. Then we converted the products into a A 25-year built-up area dataset following the UN terms, which can be used to calculate the indicator of SDG 11.3.1 and also apply to other urbanization studies in China.

本数据集基于多源遥感数据，包含陆地卫星（Landsat）与哨兵卫星（Sentinel）影像时序数据，依托谷歌地球引擎（Google Earth Engine）云计算平台，采用多指数适配策略，生成了1990年至2015年间433个人口逾30万的中国城市的不透水面面积产品。随后，按照联合国术语规范，将上述不透水面产品转换为25年时长的建成区数据集；该数据集可用于计算可持续发展目标11.3.1（SDG 11.3.1）指标，同时可应用于中国境内其他城市化相关研究。
