In this work we explored structural and metabolic alterations within the nigrostriatal system in a population of de novo PD patients. We assessed the degree and spatial pattern of dopaminergic denervation (FDOPA), microstructural integrity (FW), and iron accumulation (R2*) within several regions of the nigrostriatal system, including spatial divisions of the SNc and striatum.
