Intestinal colonization with CRE in a prospective cohort of liver transplant recipients

Multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) including carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) are an important cause of morbidity and mortality after solid organ transplantation. We characterized CRE isolates from fecal samples obtained from patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT) using active surveillance and whole-genome sequencing (WGS).
