A Menthor for Graph Processing - Florian Gysin

Parallelization and distribution of algorithms have seen a lot of attention<br>in these last years and a lot of effort was put into more efficient parallelized<br>algorithms. A different aspect however, is how a user can be enabled to<br>implement these kinds of algorithms in an easy and generic way. We worked<br>with and improved Menthor, a Scala framework for parallel graph pro-<br>cessing. The focus was put on the different aspects of local parallelization<br>over several processors with some thoughts on distributing Menthor and<br>making it run on a cluster of networked machines. We improved the per-<br>formance of Menthor significantly by introducing parallel collections and<br>making several changes to certain parts of the Menthor code.
