Replication Data and Code for "Retail Electricity Prices as Policy Indicators: Measurement Choices, Crisis Relief and Affordability in Europe"

This repository contains the replication materials for the research article "Retail Electricity Prices as Policy Indicators: Measurement Choices, Crisis Relief and Affordability in Europe". The package provides original publicly available Eurostat datasets, processed country-year panel datasets, replication scripts, statistical outputs, and figures used in the empirical analysis. The study examines how alternative electricity price measurements influence interpretations of energy affordability, renewable transition costs, and consumer protection policies in Europe. It combines Eurostat electricity price statistics (nrg_pc_204), renewable energy indicators (nrg_ind_ren), household income indicators, energy poverty measures, inflation indices, and natural gas prices. All source data are publicly available from Eurostat. The replication package is designed to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and independent verification of the empirical results.
