Processed 2021 Census of Population Data for Canada's Census Divisions (Parquet)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides a processed Parquet version of Statistics Canada’s 2021 Census of Population data for the census division geographic level in Canada. It is based on the 2021 Census Profile comprehensive download files published by Statistics Canada, specifically the Census divisions geography. Within the 2021 Census Dictionary, a census division (CD) is defined as a group of neighbouring municipalities joined together for the purposes of regional planning and managing common services, such as police or ambulance services; it is the general term for provincially legislated areas such as counties, municipalités régionales de comté (MRCs), regional districts, or their equivalents. In provinces and territories where such areas are not established in law, Statistics Canada defines equivalent areas for statistical reporting purposes in cooperation with provincial and territorial partners, and census divisions function as intermediate geographic areas between the province or territory and the municipality (census subdivision). This release is part of the Data for Canada d4c-datapkg-statistical collection and is intended to support machine-readable, reproducible analysis using modern data tools and workflows.
