The tactile images have been obtained by sensorising a robot arm with distributed tactile skin, namely CySkin, and by having 38 users execute 5 different gestures while standing in 2 different positions with respect to the robot. The raw measurements obtained from the tactile skin have been converted into the so-called tactile images with a given aspect ratio (357 × 334). Different gestures are associated with different image sequences, which can be easily used to train classifiers. This dataset has been collected as part of Horizon Europe Project Sestosenso granted from the European Commission’s HORIZON EUROPE Research and Innovation Actions under GA number 101070310, and is part of task T5.4 related to WP5.
