The sequential treatment of [W(CBr)(CO)2{HB(pzMe2)3}] (pz = pyrazol-1-yl) with nBuLi and [NiCl2(PEt3)2] initially
affords the bridging carbido complex [WNi(μ-C)(CO)2(PEt3)2Cl{HB(pzMe2)3}],
which is however unstable and isomerizes cleanly to the bridging phosphoniocarbyne
complex [WNi(μ-CPEt3)(CO)2(PEt3)Cl{HB(pzMe2)3}].
