资源简介:
This study investigated the suppressive effects of blue light-emitting diode (LED) irradiation on bone resorption and changes in the oral microbiome of mice with ligature-induced periodontitis. Mice ligated ligature around the right maxillary second molar were divided into Li (no irradiation) and LiBL (blue LED irradiation) groups. The LiBL group underwent blue LED irradiation at 150 mW/cm2, four times per week, on the gingival tissue around the ligated tooth for 5 minutes. Bone resorption was evaluated using micro-computed tomography (CT). Differences in the oral microbiome composition between the Li and LiBL groups were analyzed using next-generation sequencing based on the 16S rRNA gene from the ligated ligatures. The results of this study showed that Blue LED irradiation without a photosensitizer altered the composition of the oral microbiome.
