The receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase BIK1 is regarded as a central component in plant immunity. However, the majority of relevant studies have been carried out using a limited number of T-DNA insertional mutants. Some phenotypes associated with bik1-1 have not been explained by the assumed role of BIK1 in immunity. To investigate whether there are other types of mutations in the genome of bik1-1, we performed third-generation sequencing using the PacBio platform.
