Novel mechanism for explaining metabolic alterations linked to insulin resistance in pregnancy

Results of quantitative analysis of peptides recovered during MS analysis. Following initial identification by MS analysis, a portion of the digested band was mixed with iTRAQ reagent then reanalyzed to determine peptide content between each of the conditions. A combination of this analysis and staining density was used to determine the fold change for each protein. In instances where gel bands contained more than one protein, this approach enabled proteins that changed to be discriminated from those which were unaffected by each of the conditions.
