Dataset for Observational and WRF-Driven Multi-Height Wind Speed and Power Forecasting Experiments at a Utility-Scale Wind Farm

This dataset contains multi-height wind speed observations, wind direction, temperature, and corresponding total wind power generation data collected from an operational wind farm located in a Gobi desert region. The measurements span from the surface layer to hub height and provide the basis for constructing extended vertical wind profile representations.The dataset also includes WRF downscaled meteorological simulations temporally aligned with the observations. The WRF simulations are driven by two global numerical weather prediction systems, ECMWF IFS and NCEP GFS. These data were used for day-ahead wind speed post-processing correction and day-ahead power forecasting experiments in the associated study.
